Baptistry, St John's Church Ladywood (2002)
Entitled 'Sacred Geometry', the window is situated in the Baptistry area of
St. John’s Church, Ladywood, Birmingham. The glass is English hand-made
streaky glass of brilliance, high colour and transparency, possessing
striations and bubbles, to add dimension and dynamics to the design.
Deliberately 'under-painted' on the glass surface, the passage of light
throws shafts of brilliant colour onto the font and bathes the area in a
warm glow. The overall effect created is uplifting, beautiful and
contemplative. |
