St Catherine's Church, Chipping Campden (1999)
Situated in the north aisle of the church is 'The Pieta'. This new figurative window uses the intense medieval colours of red and cobalt blue, specifically chosen to represent Christ's passion at the sun's eclipse. The eclipse, which also dates the window, is shown against the blue background which becomes lighter by degrees and culminates in the upper quatrefoil, where a dove flies to signify the Resurrection. The window is dedicated to the priest's family. |
